A Bold New Approach

Genesis Christian Academy is a Christian K-12 college preparatory academy located on Everything Jesus Ranch in Seguin, Texas. Our 114 acre rural river front environment allows students to explore and pursue every aspect of their spiritual, creative, intellectual and physical development. Our goal is to educate a new generation of peacemakers who, inspired by Christian values and empowered by the Holy Spirit, will utilize creative ministries to transcend the barriers that separate God’s children from one another: culture, class, gender, race, religion, denomination, ethnicity, etc.

Getting the job done right at the Deale, Maryland campus… …learning a love of work...Maria Montessori definitely knew what she was talking about! Sing and work. Memorize scripture and work. Listen to books on tape and work. Set goals. Achieve them and experience the gratification. Fall short and see the real-life consequences. Understand the science of organic farming. Understand the beauty of all that God has given us. Realize how "cool" it is to be self-sufficient!

Our ranch setting provides a variety of opportunities for our youth. Not only does the farm produce over half of the food they eat, it provides an opportunity for practical application of their academic skill.

Many of the science projects of our students involve livestock and agriculture. Our very youngest students understand principles of organic gardening, and the responsibility of each individual to protect and improve the environment. Most of our students have gained mechanical knowledge through maintenance and repair of our equipment. Students are also taught general carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.

Every aspect of our students’ education highlights the potential for each life activity and profession to serve as a Christian witness. Students learn by experience that every task, menial or profound, must be performed with excellence, and in service to Christ. Through the challenges of a rigorous academic curriculum, work responsibilities, and opportunities to excel in creative and performance arts, our students develop creative styles of worship, ministry, and evangelism.

Junior I students (8-9yrs old) screen, package and label compost from the farm. Then they put on their entrepreneur caps, and prepare to sell their valuable product. Masters at mental math skills, they are the first to declare, " No self-respecting business person ever relies on a calculator!"

Work experiences on Everything Jesus Ranch stimulate our students’ mental and physical stamina, develop their problem-solving skills, and instill a commitment to task completion. Most important, every activity—academic, creative, work, or recreational—is aimed at encouraging students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and gain firsthand knowledge of the Bible as their primary tool for problem solving.

An internationally diverse faculty, staff, and student body comprise an educational subculture in which students develop a sense of global citizenship. Exposure to brothers and sisters from all over the world enables our students to transcend cultural barriers, and provides them with the vision to see the same Jesus Christ in each person they meet, regardless of race or culture. A multicultural curriculum, as well as opportunities for international study, travel and performance, provide a realistic forum for foreign language mastery.

As students graduate from GCA and eventually return to their home countries and local communities, they become part of an international network of Christian leaders, dedicated to the building of God’s kingdom, and spreading the message of salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our academic program is intensive and effective. Our high school curriculum combines both secondary and college level subjects. As they near completion of their high school academic program, we assist all of our students in application to the colleges of their choice. Genesis Christian Academy students as young as age fourteen are successfully matriculating at colleges throughout the country.
