Philosophical Foundations |
|
We believe that an effective
educational system must: |
|
place Christ
at the center,
promote a strong work ethic,
inspire a desire to learn,
develop self-sufficiency,
encourage morality, and
teach service and volunteerism |
|
|
We
believe that these goals are best achieved in an educational
setting where students have:
|
|
personal
accountability for completion of tasks and mastery of
skills,
opportunities for practical application of knowledge
and problem solving,
a community that encourages appreciation of the
environment, cultural diversity, and the arts,
a community in which group and individual values are
respected and promoted. |
|
We believe that Genesis Christian Academy’s unique
approach to education fulfills these needs.

Foundations |
Genesis Christian
Academy is a prepared learning environment that encourages
students’ exploration of art and
ideas.
|
Our school is located in a natural
environment that supports wildlife, and is also conducive to
organic agriculture, produce and livestock. The school
has a well established farm infrastructure and a variety of
equipment, so that students can gain problem solving skills
through work and experimentation with various methods of
raising livestock and crops. The land serves as a project
site for students to learn practical skills, including
carpentry and home repair. |
|
GCA is equipped with performance
facilities, to provide students with a venue for creative
witness and expression through musical and dramatic
productions. We use arts as a vehicle to build basic
academic skills, enhance communications skills, inspire
creative problem solving, and develop artistic ability.
|
Genesis Christian Academy is technologically well
equipped. The development of skill and creativity with
technology is an essential component of holistic education
for the new millennium. Computers, science laboratory
equipment, and video and editing equipment enable students
to enhance subject area learning, develop entrepreneurial
skills and engage in reality-based research.
|
Our school provides opportunities for responsible
commercial enterprise. This way, students can begin,
based on firsthand experience, to develop Christian business
ethics, and learn that it is possible to capitalize
profitably and creatively on their skills and talents,
without exploiting their values, other people, the
environment, or compromising their integrity. |
